2023 was a rough year in the startup world with many companies forced to lay off employees or worse close their doors, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Despite all the financial turmoil, ten startups on PHL Inno’s 2024 Startups to Watch List have not only survived but are thriving.

One of those startups is Nexteon Technologies in Ambler.

Founded in 2017 under the name Route Dynamics Corp. and then rebranded in 2021, Nexteon Technologies focuses on aviation technology.

Its product SmartRoutes helps pilots find wind-corrected alternate flight paths that take less time and use less jet fuel.

JetBlue is expected to start using the technology this month and an agreement is in the works with another major airline, according to Nexteon.

Its other major product, SecureTrack, collects air traffic surveillance data. The Estonian government is currently using it.

The company raised a $4.8 million growth round in June with investors like the Broad Street Angels.

The company’s co-founders are Rob Kaimowitz, Jill Wittels, George Hunter, and Dave McNally.

Read more about why Ambler’s Nexteon Technologies is thriving in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
