Manor College Director of Athletics John Dempster recently announced Charles (P.J.) Hackett as its Head Baseball Coach.

“As soon as I sat down with Coach Hackett, I knew that he was the one that could put our program back on the map,” said Dempster. “He has the baseball knowledge to build our team and to move Manor Baseball forward. What I loved the most about P.J. was his humility and his team-first attitude that will jump-start this rebuild and get the Blue Jays in contention sooner than later.”

Hackett was previously the Williamson College of the Trades (United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Eastern States Athletic Conference) Associate Head Baseball Coach during the 2009 through 2023 seasons.

During Hackett’s time at the Williamson College of the Trades, The Mechanics accomplished several achievements, such as finishing sixth in the USCAA in batting average (0.319) and slugging percentage (0.454) in 2023; taking seventh in 2018 in the USCAA in on-base percentage (0.407); taking second in 2018 in the USCAA in on-base percentage (0.420); leading the USCAA in on-base percentage (0.452) and ranking 11th in batting average (0.306) in 2014; and finishing fourth in the USCAA in on-base percentage (0.427) in 2013.

Hackett’s rich experience also includes his stint at Lincoln University (NCAA) as Assistant Head Baseball Coach during the 2007 through 2008 seasons where he was the Lions’ Hitting Coach. He coached two players that are in Lincoln’s Athletics Hall of Fame: Joseph Kruemmer (Class of 2018) and Melvin Robinson (Class of 2020). He helped with the transition from Division III to Division II. Hackett also signed the University’s first baseball scholarship player.

Since 2014, Hackett also serves as a Camp Instructor and Partner at 3 UP and 3 DOWN Baseball Camps in Wilmington, Delaware. He was involved in the Judy Johnson Baseball Camp, which was a finalist for Minor League Baseball’s “Golden Bobblehead Award” in 2020.

Hackett received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Public Relations and Business Administration minor from Elizabethtown College in 1993. He also received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Management Information Systems concentration from Goldey-Beacom College (Wilmington, Delaware) in 2002.

Hackett currently resides in Wilmington, Delaware.

Manor begins its third season overall in 2024, which is its first as a USCAA and ESAC member. Learn more about Hackett and the Manor College Blue Jays’ athletic stats, plans, and events.
