Forest & Main Brewing in Ambler is part of the Pennsylvania Grain to Glass Brewery Trail, which focuses on breweries that are dedicated to using local malted grains as well as other local brewing ingredients, writes Emily Kovach for the PA eats.

Forest & Main Brewing was co-founded in 2012 by Gerard Olson and Daniel Endicott. It immediately gained in popularity thanks to its farmhouse-style saisons and pub ales and lagers, as well as its experimental brews. All of these were primarily created using locally grown ingredients.

Several of its beers are even created using yeast cultures that have been foraged from its Ambler location for a deeper sense of “microbial terroir.” One of these unique beers is Solaire Reserve, a Foeder Saison created using 100 percent Deer Creek Malt spelt and barley.

The beer is hopped with Hallertau Hersbrucker before being fermented in an oak foeder.

Forest & Main Brewing, located at 241 N. Main Street in Ambler. The establishment offers a range of drafts, which include traditional Czech side pulls along with hand-pumped cask pours.
