For most families just when all the holiday gift shopping and unwrapping is done, the chore of returning gifts that are the wrong size or color commences, writes Ryan Mulligan for PHLINNO.

This year that chore can be a lot easier with the help of a Bryn Mawr startup.

Dropupp will pick up packages and return unwanted online purchases for Philadelphia area households.

Founder Naial Casanovas Mack expects about a 30% increase in pickups during January and even dressed up like the Grinch to shoot a promotional video to help get the word out.

Launched in 2022, Dropupp currently serves the Main Line into Philadelphia. Casanovas Mack said his goal for 2024 is to service the whole Philadelphia area and to begin expanding to other busy metro areas like New York.

The startup service offers a free trial for two pickups with four items per pickup. After the trial, pickups are $8.99 each. Customers can also pay $20 for a monthly subscription which includes up to four pickups per month.

This year Casanovas Mack is also ramping up social media marketing efforts to expand the customer base. Besides filming a Grinch promo video, he formed an influencer partnership with Brooke Goldstein, a Main Line fitness blogger.
