Take a Nature Break at One of Main Line’s Many Parks and Gardens

Evansburg State Park was home to some of the area’s earliest settlers and some of the buildings still remain.

Studies consistently show that exposure to nature is important for our health, both physical and mental. Lucky for us there is no shortage of lush parkland and gardens for us to explore.

The Main Line Today has curated a list of those in the Main Line area. Here is just a sampling.

Airdrie Forest Preserve

Located in Paoli, Airdrie Forest Preserve has over 75 acres and 3.25 miles of trails.

Black Rock Sanctuary

Located in Phoenixville, Black Rock Sanctuary has almost 120 acres of meadows, wetlands, and woodlands, plus a .8-mile ADA-accessible interpretive trail.

Chanticleer

Located in Wayne, Chanticleer, formerly the Rosengarten estate, is a colorful contemporary garden set in a historic setting.

Chester Valley Trail

The Chester Valley Trail is a 13-mile paved trail from Exton to King of Prussia. It follows along an old railroad track.

Evansburg State Park

Located in CollegevilleEvansburg State Park was home to some of the area’s earliest settlers and some of the buildings still remain. Farmers used to use the Skippack Creek for energy.
