Family-Friendly Beer Bar: Gullifty’s in Bryn Mawr Has Something for Everybody

Bryn Mawr’s Gullifty’s, a family-friendly beer bar, has something to offer for everybody, from pizzas and tacos to steak and delicious drinks, reports Bob Kelly for FOX 29 Philadelphia.

The eatery is getting close to hitting its 50th anniversary. Jason Johnson, the owner of Gullifty’s, grew up in the business.

“The family farm, that’s what I always thought of it as,” said Johnson.

For the owner, the secret to achieving a successful half a century in business is simple.

“I think the secret is being authentic to what you do, having a passion for what you do, and loving what you do,” he said.

The restaurant was started by his parents who were transplants to the area.

“My dad was from the country, my mom was from a coal mine town,” said Johnson.

Their original concepts included Italian, Irish, a deli, and a grill, among others. In the end, they decided to combine it all and offer a little bit of everything under one roof.

The eatery is popular with local college sports teams, who often stop by for either breakfast or dinner before heading out to the big game.
