While high home prices and mortgage rates are impacting the U.S. real estate market, there are still communities in the U.S. where homes are quickly being bought up, writes Elena Cox for Stacker.

Montgomery County and many other places in Pennsylvania are on that list.

To determine the rankings, Stacker looked at the median number of days a home spent on the market in September using Redfin data.

#38. Montgomery County

The median number of days homes were on the market was 17, with 1,648 total homes sold.

#34. Scranton

The median number of days homes were on the market was 16, with 457 total homes sold.

#18. Allentown

The median number of days homes were on the market was 13, with 752 total homes sold.

#6. Lancaster

 The median number of days homes were on the market was 8, with 422 total homes sold.

#5. York

The median number of days homes were on the market was 8, with 485 total homes sold.

#3. Reading

The median number of days homes were on the market was 7, with 375 total homes sold.

#1 Harrisburg

The median number of days homes were on the market was 7, with 571 total homes sold.
