A love of basketball is a shared passion between Germantown Academy’s Bryce Presley and his father Dino Presley, a college coach, writes Josh Verlin and Mike Livingston for City of Basketball Love.

Sophomore Bryce Presley has been around basketball his whole life and now he is in his second year playing varsity at Germantown Academy.

His father has over 20 years of experience coaching college basketball. He is currently an assistant coach at Rider.

Presley showcases skills he has picked up from his father like always waiting a beat after getting the ball to determine the best attack strategy to take.

“I was always taught to do that,” Presley said. “You’ve got to face up, look, and see what you’ve got first, observe, then take the play.”

His coach Matt Dolan said, “He’s the son of a coach, and so I think there’s tremendous value there because he knows the game.

“You can see the game slowing down and having him be patient. I think it’s a benefit for him because we need great spacing. When he’s not rushing, we have guys in great spots and then he can dominate the one-on-one opportunity.”
