The eighth annual MoTown Turkey Trot in North Wales takes place on Thanksgiving Day. The region’s annual turkey trot races are a unique local tradition that also provide a chance to give back to your community by raising money for people in need during this special time of the year.

If you are looking to work up an appetite before your Thanksgiving meal this year, join one of the many turkey trots being organized around the Main Line, including a pair in Montgomery County, writes Claire Chmiel for the Main Line Today.

The region’s annual turkey trot races are a unique local tradition that also provide a chance to give back to your community by raising money for people in need during this special time of the year.

The eighth annual MoTown Turkey Trot in North Wales takes place on Thanksgiving Day.

The race starts at 8 a.m. This is an ideal opportunity to get the entire family involved thanks to the variety of races that include the 8K, 5K, two-mile fun run/walk, and half-mile kids’ fun run.

Toss Your Turkey 5K in Pottstown also takes place on Thanksgiving Day with an 8:30 a.m. start.

For taking part in the 13th anniversary of this fundraiser, you will get a long-sleeve tech shirt and TYT race bib. Proceeds from the race go to the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities for Feeding and Sheltering the Homeless and Pottsgrove Athletics.
