Evansburg State Park Is a Hidden Gem in the Heartland of Montgomery County
Nestled in the heartland of Montgomery County, Evansburg State Park offers visitors both a natural retreat and a rich storied past, writes the staff of Newsbreak.
The 3,349 acres were acquired by William Penn in 1684. Today, it is an idyllic spot for fishing and hiking.
Located in Collegeville, the park offers a multitude of trails along Skippack Creek to explore as well as plenty of opportunities for fishing, horseback riding, and picnicking.
For a glimpse into the park’s colonial past, you can also visit the Friedt Visitor Center and the Indenhofen farm.
In the park, you will find remnants of the life and work of the Mennonite farmers who first lived on the land in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, including mill buildings and houses.
