Thanks to Yardley-based food historian and writer Becky Libourel Diamond, families can now enjoy a lavish feast reminiscent of those celebrated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Her cookbook: “The Gilded Age Cookbook: Recipes and Stories from America’s Golden Era“” is an homage to an era renowned for its opulence and grandeur.

Central to the Gilded Age-inspired menu is the mouth-watering roast turkey, adorned with chicken forcemeat balls. Complementing this main course are delectable sweet potato croquettes, guaranteed to become a holiday favorite. But the vintage charm doesn’t stop there.

Picture a table adorned with crisp celery uniquely displayed in exquisite vases, a rich pumpkin cake, and a heartwarming baked apple pudding.

“Thanksgiving during the Gilded Age wasn’t just about the food; it was an extravagant affair, emphasizing décor and elegance,” reveals Diamond in her latest work.

An image of fresh fruit, artistically arranged on either silver or pewter platters accompanied by clusters of grapes, transports readers back to those sumptuous feasts.

Offering a rich blend of timeless recipes, decor advice, and fascinating facts, Diamond ensures readers experience the Gilded Age’s tastes and aesthetics.

Chapters span a range of topics, from culinary innovations and outdoor eats to special invitations and festive holidays.

This cookbook full of extravagant recipes is for sale on Amazon.
