Schuylkill River Greenways Invites You to Submit Original Work to Art Show
The Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area is inviting artists to submit original pieces for the 19th Annual Scenes of the Schuylkill Juried Art Show and Sale to be held November 13th to December 10th at the Pottstown campus of Montgomery County Community College.
The Best in Show artist or photographer will receive a $500 prize. Pieces ranked in second place, third place, as honorable mentions, and selected as the staff choice will also receive cash prizes.
Best in Show sculpture will receive a $250 prize.
The prospectus and application can be viewed at schuylkillriver.org/artshow.
Artists must deliver artwork for submission to the North Hall at MCCC on November 6th or 7th from 12-5pm.
The central theme of the art show is the unique nature of the historic watershed. The artwork can focus on people, the river, streams, landscape, or historic property.
Artists working in photography, painting, and sculpture are welcome to submit their work for consideration.
This year, Patrick Winston will be Guest Juror. Winston currently teaches painting and drawing at Montgomery County Community College. He has displayed his own works of art in a variety of museums and galleries around the globe.
“Our staff, board, and members are overwhelmed each year by how each talented artist sees, captures, and interprets the beauty of our watershed through their art,” said, SRG executive director, Elaine Schaefer.
Selected artists will also receive complimentary admission to the Annual Scenes of the Schuylkill art reception and awards ceremony for themself and a guest.
The reception will be held in the North Hall Gallery on November 16th.
