Quakertown singer Laura Williams is debuting her vocal talents on ‘The Voice’, and has already made an impression, according to NBC 10 Philadelphia. 

“It’s been absolutely insane,” says Williams in an interview with ‘Philly Live’.  

On ‘The Voice’, coaches have their backs turned on the contestants during Blind Auditions. If a coach is impressed by the voice they hear, they push a button to select the artist to be on their team.  

However, if more than one coach presses the button, the artist has the chance to choose.  

All four judges, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, Reba McEntire, and Niall Horan pressed the button for 20-year-old Williams.  

Williams, whose personal genre is Christian music, chose former One Direction singer Niall Horan to be her coach.  

“There was just a genuine energy coming from him,” she said. “We’re very similar in our music, and in our style of writing.” 

Williams’s journey to The Voice, has been a long-time coming. She deferred her college application to focus on music after graduating from high school. 

Williams was singing for three hours a day and posting on TikTok consistently for a year. She said the show found her on Instagram.  

The support from the Bucks County community has “blown up” for Williams and she’s found everyone to be supportive.  

Even Gritty, who was also on the set of ‘Philly Live’ was cheering her on from the studio. The Bucks County singer joked that she and the beloved mascot should duet together.
