Preparing for carving fun

Once you have your pumpkins, but before you sit down to actually carve them, make sure you have all the other materials you will need, including a curved boning or serrated knife, an ice cream scooper or scraper, paper, pencil or pen, candle or battery-operated light and a lighter.

Purchasing a pumpkin carving kit is also another great option.
