Spirits in the Philadelphia area are high as the Philadelphia Phillies take on the National League Championship Series.

One Upper Dublin High School graduate is especially in high spirits as a t-shirt he made for his friend Phillies’ Orion Kerkering has gone viral.

The story behind the t-shirt is one of friendship and a love of baseball, writes Isabella DiAmore for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Jared Pollock and Kerkering met while Pollock was the team manager for the University of South Florida’s baseball team.

When the Phillies’ rookie wanted to show his Philly pride and support of his new teammates, he knew that Pollock was the one person he could count on.

He asked his friend to get a powder blue t-shirt printed with the words “Atta Boy Harper” on the front and the quote “He wasn’t supposed to hear it” on the back.

“When he texted me about the T-shirt, I was kind of like, ‘Uh-oh, he’s becoming a full Philly guy now,’” Pollock said.

The quote refers to a comment the Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia made about Phillies’ Bryce Harper.

Kerkering told Pollock how welcoming the clubhouse has been to him and how much he has appreciated it.
