Powerful Storytelling: Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media Fall Fest Coming to Montco
Every November Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media kicks off its Fall Fest with film screenings and exclusive digital content, highlighting Jewish storytelling from all around the world, writes Ben Silver for Main Line Today.
This year, from November 11th through the 18th, Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media will premiere eight new films, a mix of documentaries, international features, and celebrated classics.
Most of the films will premiere at the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia, but certain Main Line theaters will also offer screenings, including the Kaiserman JCC in Wynnewood, the Bryn Mawr Film Institute, and the Ambler Theater.
At Kaiserman JCC, there will be an anniversary screening of The Rugrats Movie on November 12. This kid favorite film was one of the first mainstream animated films to represent Jewish characters.
A documentary on the life of actor Gene Wilder will be playing at Bryn Mawr Film Institute at 7 p.m. on November 14. Remembering Gene Wilder includes interviews with some of his close friends like Mel Brooks and Carol Kane.
The Ambler Theater will be screening Rabbi on the Block on November 16. This documentary tells the story of Tamar Manasseh, a black rabbinical student and founder of Mothers/Men Against Senseless Killings.
