MontCo Anti-Hunger Network Executive Director to Step Down by End of Year
The MontCo Anti-Hunger Network (MAHN) has announced that Executive Director, Amanda Musselman, would be stepping down by the end of the year.
“After careful consideration and thoughtful reflection, I have come to the difficult decision to step down from my current role at the end of December,” said Musselman.
“I did not arrive at this decision lightly as I care a great deal about this amazing organization, our staff, and all of our partners we serve, and am immensely proud of the work we have accomplished. I will be taking some time off to focus on other personal commitments that require my attention. I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to have been part of this remarkable organization.”
Mindy Bartscherer, President of MAHN’s board, said the organization has formed an executive search committee to work on the hiring process.
The tentative plan is to conduct interviews for the open position in the fall and have a new person on-boarded before Musselman’s departure in December.
Job description and information on applying can be found here: https://www.montcoantihunger.org/careers.html.
“We’re so appreciative of Amanda’s example, and empowering vision that re-energized coalitions to help bring MAHN into the future,” said Bartscherer.
“Her respectful approach and transparent communication supported thoughtful solutions. We wish her the best. We know that her fair and just leadership created a toolkit of new policies and procedures for the organization, providing a template for our next leader.”
During her tenure, Musselman reinstituted MAHN signature events like the annual conference and Hunger Summit.
“I want to express my profound gratitude to the network and community. I have been privileged to witness the passion of the hunger relief community, who are all dedicated to our mission of leading coordinated action to strengthen the food security safety net in Montgomery County,” Musselman said.
“Together, through this inclusive network, we have re-identified needs, brought partners together to collaborate through refreshed programming, and worked to identify catalyzing solutions that will allow us to serve more people and each person better. Food is a basic human right, and MAHN will continue to lead collective action towards a vision of a well-nourished, hunger free Montgomery County where all community members can flourish.”
