Owner of Jenkintown’s The Haus Adds Another Taproom in South Philadelphia
Human Robot Brewing, which expanded into Montgomery County last year with The Haus in Jenkintown, is opening a South Philadelphia taproom along East Passyunk, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The new location will be called Human Robot Súd, after the German word for “south.”
Jake Atkinson, co-founder of Human Robot, aims to open the new taproom as soon as possible. Once it opens its doors, the ground-floor space will be able to seat around 70 people and have about 12 beers on tap.
The company does not plan to brew beer at the new location.
The brewery has been planning a South Philadelphia expansion for a while to raise brand awareness.
Atkinson believes that the new taproom will provide Human Robot with “lots of exposure.”
“There’s people in South Philly that don’t even know we exist,” said Atkinson. “We have to physically be there in order for people to know that we exist.”
