ETHOS Treatment Launches LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Group for Mental Health/Substance Disorder Healing
ETHOS Treatment, LLC — which helps adults and teens with mental health issues and substance use disorders through a proven combination of individual counseling, small group, and family therapy — is now offering an LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Group.
Though ETHOS has outpatient treatment clinics in Philadelphia, West Chester, Plymouth Meeting, Collegeville, Broomall, Jenkintown, and Wyomissing, the new group will meet online to better serve people throughout the region who identify as LGBTQIA+ with a mental health issue, a substance use disorder, or both.
“We stand with all people who are taking steps to create a society in which everyone can live authentically and proudly,” said ETHOS co-founder and Chief Clinical Officer A. Michael Blanche.
“ETHOS has always provided safe, gender-affirming, and culturally competent care for our clients in the LGBTQIA+ community,” said Olivia “Liv” Houser, the clinician who leads the new telehealth initiative. “In our group, we will continue to compassionately address members’ unique needs and experiences while helping them continue along the path to healing from substance use disorder and/or mental health issues.”
Houser, who is based in ETHOS’s West Chester treatment center, received her master’s degree in mental health counseling from Immaculata University. She has extensive experience working with young adults, adults, couples, and families dealing with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health conditions and has spoken on panels for “Be a Part of the Conversation” pertaining to LGBTQIA+ and substance abuse. She utilizes psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, experiential, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, and psychodynamic theory.
The ETHOS-proven model of individual counseling, small group, and family therapy for the treatment of substance use disorders in adults maximizes the potential for long-term, sustainable recovery. ETHOS also helps people with clinical depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and mood regulation issues.
In addition to the LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Group, ETHOS offers groups specifically for first responders and men who have experienced trauma. Learn more about ETHOS Treatment, LLC.
