While most students were soaking up as much summer as possible, high school seniors at Sacred Heart Academy in Bryn Mawr spent a week in college application boot camp, writes Wakisha Bailey for CBS News Philadelphia.
The fast track to the college app boot camp with Alan Paynter, the academy’s director of college counseling, gives seniors a head start on applying to college.
“Most people don’t really know how to get started, said senior Abby Kucera.
Avery Schultz added, “For me, I was very overwhelmed in the beginning. I didn’t really have a college list until the beginning of this week.”
Paynter said the biggest question from seniors is whether they will get into their number one choice.
He was impressed with their hard work during the boot camp. He said, “They’re just willing to work. I think any colleges should want these ladies.”
