Penn State Abington’s Margo DelliCarpini to Lead All Penn State Branch Campuses

Prior to her new role, DelliCarpini was the chancellor at Penn State Abington.

Starting October 1, Penn State University will have a new vice president for commonwealth campuses and executive chancellor, writes Bill Schackner for TribLive.

Margo DelliCarpini will oversee the university’s 20 branch campuses. Prior to her new role, DelliCarpini was the chancellor at Penn State Abington.

In her new role, one of her main focuses will be to boost enrollment at all the branch campuses.

Enrollment has been down at many of the branch campuses and similar trends are being seen at other universities in Pennsylvania with branch campuses.

DelliCarpini said that these branch campuses are important for increasing educational access and for supporting the economic developmental of the communities they serve.

“The commonwealth campuses truly fulfill the land-grant mission of Penn State. They are the cultural and intellectual hubs of their communities and serve as engines of economic development, bringing Penn State to communities across Pennsylvania,” she explained.

“I believe that we are at an inflection point as an institution of higher education and that we have the opportunity to redefine how commonwealth campuses support the overall land-grant mission of Penn State.”
