American Community Journals Seeks Vice President of Development

American Community Journals (ACJ) — the parent company of VISTA Today, MONTCO Today, DELCO Today, BUCKSCO Today, and PHILADELPHIA Today — is seeking a self-motivated and ambitious Vice President of Development to drive revenue growth.

This full-time position is 100 percent remote and offers the flexibility to work from any location while targeting mid- to large-sized companies and nonprofits in Philadelphia, as well as Montgomery and Bucks counties.

This role will work closely with ACJ’s Senior Vice President of Development, Editorial Engineer, and editorial team to identify and capitalize on content marketing opportunities. Responsibilities include developing and executing a sales strategy; identifying and qualifying new business opportunities through prospecting, cold-calling, networking, and other sales methods; and managing the sales process from lead generation through closing, ensuring excellent customer service throughout.

He/she will build and maintain strong client relationships to identify additional sales opportunities and to maximize revenue potential; collaborate with ACJ’s editorial team to understand customer needs and align content marketing opportunities with ACJ’s editorial strategy; and prepare and deliver sales presentations that effectively communicate the value of ACJ’s content marketing delivery services to potential customers.

The ideal candidate will possess three to five years of experience in media sales, specifically selling content marketing solutions or advertising space in print or digital media; knowledge of the marketing and PR industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities; and knowledge of competition and the ability to highlight what differentiates ACJ from other media outlets.

The person will have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks that yield the most value; an understanding of how to leverage technology; and familiarity with sales tools and techniques such as CRM systems, pipeline management, and sales reporting. He/she will be career-minded and ambitious and have an insatiable hunger for success. A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
