Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary welcomed new students onto its Wynnewood campus on Wednesday and the new academic year was causing a lot of mixed emotions, writes Sharifa Jackson for 6ABC.
This is because the 192nd academic year which officially starts on Monday will be the last one on the Wynnewood campus. The seminary will be moving to a new campus in Lower Gwynedd in summer of 2024.
“It’s a lot of mixed feelings here. Certainly, a sadness of leaving this beautiful campus and all these buildings, but also there’s a spirit of excitement as we head to the west campus,” said Seminary Rector Keith Chylinski.
This year is the largest incoming class in several years — 36 men will be embarking on their journey to become priests.
