Montgomery County Community College to Host Open Houses for Education, Police, and Health Sciences Programs This Week

While summer is underway, there is still time to enroll at Montgomery County Community College for the fall semester.

To address the demand for health care workers, teachers and first-responders, MCCC will host a series of open house events on Aug. 2, 9 and 10 at its Blue Bell and Pottstown campuses.

Since the pandemic, the nation has been facing a shortage of nurses, teachers and first responders, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has acknowledged the impact of this shortage in Pennsylvania and the importance of filling the vacancies.

MCCC will host its first open house Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 4-6 PM in the state-of-the-art Health Sciences Center on Blue Bell Campus. Guests will receive information on how to apply, prepare to be a student, and register for classes in time for the fall term.

The next open house event will take place Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 2-3:30 PM in South Hall Commons of Pottstown Campus. Prospective students interested in learning more about a career in Health Sciences, Education, Public Service, or Criminal Justice are invited to the open house to learn about these programs.

On Thursday, Aug. 10, MCCC will host the Education and Criminal Justice Summer Open House from 4-6 PM in Parkhouse Hall on Blue Bell Campus.

Students will have an opportunity to register for the fall semester at the open house. Information about student services, disability services, financial aid will all be available. Students will also be put on a fast track to a schedule a meeting with an academic advisor. The event will include a tour of campus.

“For the August 10th open house, students will have a chance to connect with faculty and staff to discuss Education and law enforcement job opportunities and what it takes to be successful in those areas of high need and high demand,” said Michael Harcum, Director of Admissions. ‘We are excited to showcase our beautiful Blue Bell Campus as well, which includes our smart classrooms, the police municipal academy, the fitness center, and much more.”
