KOP Startup on Mission to Build Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Across Country

InductEV’s technology uses a magnetic transmitter and receptor that is 7,500 times more powerful than the wireless charger for your smartphone.

InductEV, formerly known as Momentum Dynamics, has its research and development team in King of Prussia hard at work planning a national electric vehicle infrastructure, writes Kristen Mosbrucker-Garza for WHYY.

The startup builds wireless charging devices for large electric vehicles. Some of its clients include Volvo and Martha’s Vineyard Transit Authority.

InductEV’s technology uses a magnetic transmitter and receptor that is 7,500 times more powerful than the wireless charger for your smartphone. One device is attached to the bottom of the vehicle and another device is embedded in the pavement.

“It allows us to transmit electrons to the vehicle so the battery can receive it,” said Barry Libert, CEO and board chairmen of InductEV.

Induct EV is partnering with ChargePoint, which operates wired electric vehicle charging stations in the U.S., to expand wireless charging stations across the country.
