Whether you call it BBQ or barbecue, it will still be melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Staff from PhillyBite Magazine ranked their top 10 must-try BBQ spots in Pennsylvania and this Chester County restaurant made the list.

Located in Kennett Square, this family-owned establishment has been serving the people of the county and beyond for 30 years. Located at 1664 West Doe Run Road, Hood’s BBQ landed at no. 4 on the list.

Hood’s BBQ is run by Dawn, Larry, Morgan, and Larry Hood III. The family takes pride in their easygoing atmosphere and menu filled with choices for everyone to enjoy. Their website reads, “Good Home Cooking Takes Time. Sit Back, Relax, And Unwind.”

Their dishes are primarily homemade comfort food. Some menu specialties include BBQ pulled pork, smoked beef brisket, baby back ribs, BBQ chicken, and smoked sausage. Additionally, cheesesteaks, burgers, wraps, salads, and more are available. They also have a featured favorite called The Hoodie, which is a slow-roasted pulled pork sandwich with homemade Hood’s BBQ, provolone cheese, and coleslaw.

Furthermore, the restaurant participates in Dine & Donate fundraisers which allows people to help raises money for nonprofits while enjoying good food.
