Elkins Park’s Abrams Realty & Development Adds Dekalb Plaza to Portfolio

Abrams Realty & Development based in Elkins Park recently acquired Dekalb Plaza for $23.1 million, writes Paul Schwedelson for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Broad Street Realty, based in Bethesda, Maryland, was the former owner of the 178,356-square-foot shopping center in East Norriton. The company bought the property in 2013 for $9.4 million.

Current tenants of Dekalb Plaza include Urban Air, Big Lots, Goodwill, Chick-fil-A, Applebee’s, Sally Beauty, and Celebree School.

Abrams Realty also owns Yorktown Plaza in Elkins Park, the Court at Harleysville, and Whiteland Towne Center in Exton.

Suburban shopping centers have been going through a transformation as many of them are sold and redeveloped. Velocity Venture Partners recently bought Richland Plaza in Quakertown to convert it into an industrial property.
