Penn Community Bank Executive Continues Leadership Role with PA Bankers

Penn Community Bank, the largest mutual bank in eastern Pennsylvania, is proud to announce the naming of Bernard Tynes – EVP, Chief Marketing and Impact Officer to the board of directors of the PA Bankers Association.

Tynes, originally appointed in 2021, continues to serve as an at-large representative to the board and remains one of the youngest leaders of the state-wide industry organization.

“We congratulate and welcome our 2023-24 board of directors, led by Chair Angie Sargent and our officer team,” said Duncan Campbell, PA Bankers’ president & CEO.

“We are honored to have such dedicated volunteers, and we look forward to working with them as we continue to represent an expansive and diverse membership and help our members to support their communities and the commonwealth.” 

As Chief Marketing & Impact Officer, Tynes and his team are dedicated to advancing the Penn Community Bank’s data-driven marketing strategy and brand throughout the region. In addition, he also is responsible for the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act program and serves as Executive Director of the Penn Community Bank Foundation which contributes nearly $1 million annually to nonprofits and community organizations across the region.

In addition to PA Bankers, he shares his talents with numerous industry groups and nonprofit organizations, including as a member of the American Bankers Association’s Communications Council and board member of the United Way of Bucks County.

Tynes has been recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a diversity leader in business, was also named one of Philadelphia’s young African American leaders to watch by the Philadelphia Tribune and included in City & State PA’s 2023 Forty Under 40.

He is a graduate of Goldey-Beacom College and the University of Pennsylvania’s Executive Certificate in Business Analytics.
