Rachel Riley is an award-winning journalist with 19 years of experience in news and tourism. As the Associate Vice President of Communications for the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, she oversees PR, social, arts, and government.

And now she will also be on the board of directors of the MontCo Anti-Hunger Network.

Riley has worked with the Montco Anti-Hunger Network as a part of the VFTCB’s annual Freedom from Hunger food drive, which has collected more than 132,000 pounds of food to help those less fortunate in Montgomery County.

Montco Anti-Hunger Network provides resources to almost 60 food pantries and soup kitchens, all of which are struggling with less to feed more people right now. About 70 percent of the network the nonprofit serves continue to see an increase in need.

Giving back has always been important to Riley. She has volunteered as a Big Sister, a certified sexual assault counselor, and was named a Metro Philadelphia Power Woman, and Philadelphia Business Journal 40 Under 40.

The Valley Forge Freedom from Hunger Food Drive was created as a farewell “gift” to Pope Francis in 2015 when the Pontiff stayed in Montgomery County at the St. Charles Borromeo Seminary during the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.

Now in its eighth year, the drive continues to support the community that the tourism board diligently promotes to visitors across the nation and around the world.
