Two properties in New Hope that were inhabited by George Washington’s army during the American Revolutionary War have hit the market for $4.95 million, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The properties are currently home to two bed and breakfasts: the Wedgwood Inn and the Umpleby House. Being sold separately, the first property is being listed for $2.95 million, while the second is listed for $1.95 million.

The Wedgwood Inn totals 6,500 square feet. It features ten bedrooms with full bathrooms. Meanwhile, The 4,800-square-foot Umpleby House is home to eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The second property also includes the single-bed, single-bath Cottage House.

The buildings are also steeped in history. More than 1,000 soldiers who were part of Washington’s army that camped at the compound in December 1776 before crossing the Delaware River.

The properties are located just steps from downtown, which provides visitors with “the New Hope experience,” said listing agent Jay Ginsberg with Addison Wolfe Real Estate.

“It’s really rather special, a building full of character and a spectacular place,” she added.
