A tax and accounting firm headquartered in Blue Bell, McCarthy & Company merged into Marcum LLP, based in New York, writes David Winzelberg for the Long Island Business News.

While the terms of the agreement were not disclosed, McCarthy adds 70 partners and associates to Marcum.

McCarthy’s offices in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania and Tinton Falls, New Jersey now operate as Marcum’s newest regional locations.

Marty McCarthy, the former managing partner at McCarthy & Company, is now the Mid-Atlantic Construction practice leader for Marcum. He manages the Blue Bell and Tinton Falls offices.

McCarthy & Company was established in 1967. It specialized in tax and accounting services for the construction, real estate, healthcare, transportation, and logistics industries.

The merger will particularly strengthen Marcum’s construction practice in the region.

“McCarthy’s commitment to helping clients navigate complex business challenges aligns seamlessly with our vision at Marcum,” said Jeffrey Weiner, chairman and CEO of Marcum.

“They have cultivated an outstanding reputation within the construction industry and have unique insight into how to solve the most pressing difficulties clients encounter.”
