Greater Pottstown Tennis & Learning to Host ‘Free Adaptive Community Day’

On Saturday, June 10, Greater Pottstown Tennis & Learning is holding a “Free Adaptive Community Day”, writes Courtney H. Diener-Stokes for The Times Herald.

The special event will be held at Maple Street Park in Pottstown from 4 to 5 p.m. It is a chance for anyone aged 5 to 99 to come out and learn to play tennis.

There will also be games, prizes, pizza, and other festivities.

The mission of the Greater Pottstown Tennis & Learning is to make tennis accessible to everyone no matter their age, condition, disability or even the environment in which they live.

The executive director of the non-profit is Corey Bowlin of Pennsburg. As a tennis director and head pro at different resorts, he has lived all over the world. But now his passion is to serve the Pottstown community.

“It’s one of my focuses because it’s close to my heart and a passion of mine,” Bowlin said.

“The majority in the program are either autistic, have Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and some have emotional support needs.”

Bowlin in the past also coached Special Olympics basketball and tennis.
