It’s summertime and that means planning some fun trips, right?

If you love to play golf, one of these Montgomery County golf itineraries might be just the perfect getaway for you.

Each itinerary includes one of the top golf courses in the area as well as comfortable lodging and prime places to dine and enjoy some drinks and entertainment.

Norristown

Golf: Jeffersonville Golf Club

This Donald-Ross designed course is considered one of Pennsylvania’s top public courses. The 18-hole, par 70 course features a fully stocked pro-shop, practice putting green and restaurant. Prior to becoming a golf course, the land was used for steeplechase horse racing in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Hotel: Valley Forge Casino

The Valley Forge Casino offers large, comfortable rooms, fine dining, and lots of gaming. It is located right off the PA Turnpike in King of Prussia which makes it easy to get anywhere you want to go on your trip.

Food: Sullivan’s Steakhouse

At Sullivan’s Steakhouse, you will enjoy a wide selection of the finest hand-selected steaks and freshest seafood. There are also plenty of appetizers, soups, salads, and side dishes to choose from.

Bar: Five Saints Distilling

This historic firehouse turned distillery is a great place to unwind and enjoy some quality spirits. Try their award-winning Tuscan style gin, infused with rosemary and other Italian herbs, or try their blood orange liqueur, featuring zesty orange rings balanced by the sweet taste of fleshy blood orange pulp.

Skippack

Golf: Skippack Golf Course

This course is known as a true player’s course. Located in Evansburg State Park, it offers 6,007 yards of golf with a par 70. It also features small undulating greens which are perfect for practicing your chip shots.

Hotel: TRU BY Hilton Audubon/Valley Forge

Located five minutes from US-422, its rooms feature comfortable beds, bright bathrooms, and innovative storage space. Guests also enjoy free WiFi and free parking.

Food: The Farm House Restaurant

The historic farmhouse over looks Skippack Golf Course. Try one of the Farmhouse burgers or one of the entrees, including pan-seared salmon and surf and turf. 

Bar: Brothers Kershner Brewing Co.

This brewery is run by two brothers and is situated in the heart of Skippack. The beer list fluctuates with the changing of the seasons, but they also keep their flagships on tap, including Bing Bang Boom (American IPA), Johann (German Pilsner) and Hilltop Farmhouse (Saison).

Pottstown

Golf: Raven’s Claw Golf Club

Located in Limerick, Raven’s Claw is considered one of the premiere golf courses in the area. It was designed by Ed Shearon for golfers of all skills levels. The course is ranked in the Top 10 in Pennsylvania by Golfweek Magazine.

Hotel: Hampton Inn Limerick

Conveniently located off Route 422, it is close to not only the golf course but restaurants and other attractions.

Food: Welcome to the Avenue

Here you will enjoy authentic Caribbean food and specialty cuisine. They also offer vegetarian and vegan options. Welcome to the Avenue is located on High Street in downtown Pottstown.

Bar: J.J. Ratigan Brewing Co.

Also located in downtown Pottstown, J.J. Ratigan Brewing Co. has a variety of craft beers on tap to quench your thirst after a day on the golf course.
