Pool Players Compete in King of Prussia at World Qualifiers

By

Pool players around the Delaware Valley descended on King of Prussia this weekend for a high-stakes competition. The American Poolplayers Association World Qualifiers determines which players will compete in Las Vegas next month for the World Championships.

The competition took place at the Valley Forge Casino, according to 6 ABC.

The league consists of over 250,000 members and was founded in 1981. Thirty-two teams this weekend, including some from Montgomery County, all competed for the top spot to head to Vegas.

“You got to have that attitude. That killer instinct. You have to beat up on the person you’re playing the best you can,” said competitor Troy Langley.

APA League Operator Diana Boyle notes have far the organization has come.

“We used to be at a bar, and we decided to take it to the next level. When we started, we had 150 teams and we’re up over 180 right now. We’re growing, and APA on a whole is growing,” she said.
