Award-Winning Property Made from Old Barn Ruins Hits Market in Romansville
An esteemed architectural masterpiece has hit the market in Romansville, Chester County. The Norman Gaffney House has won multiple awards, including an honor from the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The property is looking for new owners to call the unique abode their home, writes Tiffani Sherman for Realtor.com.
Floor-to-ceiling windows display epic views of a nearby horse farm and a stone fortress wraps gently around the dwelling.
Decades prior to the award-winning home’s construction, it used to be an old barn before it caught on fire. Former owner Norman Gaffney commissioned award-winning architect Peter Bohlin to create something new from the barn’s ruins.
Peter Bohlin also designed Seattle’s City Hall, Manhattan’s Apple Store, and Bill Gates’ compound.
The previous owners purchased the property, which includes a farmhouse and barn for $404,000 in 2012, as their vacation home. During their time at the property, they decorated the interior with Italian motifs.
The charming property is now on the market for $925,000.
