Philadelphia Flight Attendant Gets Extra Perk: Access to High-end Dallas Hotel That Only Serves Her New Company’s Employees
Ellie Boothe, a Philadelphia-based flight attendant, got an extra perk when she joined American Airlines last year: access to Skyview 6, a high-end hotel that only serves her new company’s employees, writes Dawn Gilbertson for The Wall Street Journal.
The hotel that opened in late January boasts a tavern with a relaxing patio, huge gym, a pool, free cruiser bikes, and sushi to go. There are even bathroom mirrors with Bluetooth connections.
The 27-year-old flight attendant stayed at Skyview 6 for training in March. The Bluetooth mirror was one of the things that impressed her the most, as she had only seen this in one other hotel.
“The finishes and the amenities are much higher-end than the hotels we often frequent [on layovers],” she said.
The 600-room hotel was built by the airline to house most of its pilots, flight attendants, and other front-line workers who arrive at the company’s corporate campus for training each year.
“It brings energy and just a sense of connection,” said Robert Isom, Airline American’s chief executive.
