A 1698 farm near Gwynedd Preserve in North Wales is up for sale, reported Ryan Mulligan in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The property has 10 buildings on it, four of which are residential.

The main home is a five-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom structure that offers 5,300 sq. ft. of living space. Outbuildings along its tree-lined driveway have been converted into guest houses, event space, a gym, stables, a greenhouse, and even a workshop for soap making.

The historic home was once a school building, and its original bell is still connected and ringable from the kitchen.

Property records show the present owners as Christopher and Kristina McCausland. They purchased it in 2015 for $2.5 million and last updated it in 2017.

The McCauslands planted numerous trees on the property; some started as seedlings in the onsite greenhouse. The lot now has thousands of trees, with nearly 200 chosen specifically as ornamentation.

Even with all the changes, the home retains its original utilitarian purpose. The fields still host cattle and chickens, and its new owner could easily reinvigorate its agribusiness potential.

“For a fancy property, it feels very homespun, very carefully collected, thoughtfully put together,” said listing realtor Lavinia Smerconish.

More on this home with Gwynnedd Preserve access is in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
