Only in Your State, an online resource highlighting unique experiences throughout Pennsylvania, has recommended a true Montgomery County respite: Evansburg State Park in Collegeville.

The nod came from writer Beth Price-Williams, who was in search of areas that exuded peace and natural beauty. But she also wanted a getaway that wouldn’t take an inordinate amount of time to work its magic.

Evansburg State Park, she found, is the best of both worlds: It’s a chance for visitors to shed the hectic pace of modern life — household chores, online meetings, pressing schedules — in a brief visit.

Price-Williams is particularly enthusiastic about the park’s Skippack Creek Loop Trail.

Among 15 miles of connected pathways, this one is not only easily navigable, it’s particularly beautiful.

Highlights include a fairy tale footbridge, colorful wildflowers, lush canopies of trees, and wildlife that’s evident in both sight (swimming ducks) and sound (singing songbirds).

When it’s time for a sit-down, the trail has several benches whose secluded placement is peacefully restorative.

And if all that walking awakens an appetite, the Collegeville Diner and its comfort-food menu is less than four miles away.

More on Evansburg State Park — especially plenty of alluring photos — is at Only in Your State.

_____

Although the writer from Only in Your State appreciated the slower pace version of Evansburg State Park, it’s got high-adrenaline appeal as well.
