The Arc of Chester County’s Annual Bubble Walk & Fun Day Blows Away Goal
The Arc of Chester County’s Annual Bubble Walk & Fun Day raised over $127,000 in support of individuals with disabilities and their families.
A total of 390 people came out on Sunday, May 21 to West Goshen Community Park to enjoy a beautiful day full of games, face painting, Bingo, dancing, a picnic lunch, and, of course, tons of BUBBLES.
At 11:30 AM walkers set out on a one-mile walk around the park and then enjoyed a delicious picnic which was fully donated by GIANT Food Stores, Herrs Foods, and Wawa and served by 13 volunteers from the Rotary Club of the Upper Main Line.
Families then checked out the fire truck from Goshen Fire Company, the police car from the West Goshen Police Department, a live pet adoption from the Brandywine Valley SPCA, and much more!
Some of the many corporate sponsors for the annual Bubble Walk included CTDI, West Pharmaceuticals, Arthur Hall Insurance, Chester County Down Syndrome Interest Group, WSFS, Arthur Hall Insurance, VISTA Today, and dozens of others. They were instrumental in making the day a success.
“It was inspiring to see the show of support continue to grow this year with new sponsors, teams, and walkers. It really emphasized the collective power of community” expressed Paul Cardell, Arc Board Member and Chair of the Bubble Walk & Fun Day.
“We are humbled and incredibly grateful for the overwhelming community support,” said Jeanne Meikrantz, Chief Executive Officer of The Arc of Chester County. With the support of CTDI and West Pharmaceuticals and the rest of the generous sponsors and loyal supporters, we can continue providing quality, vital and essential programs, and services to those we are privileged to serve.”
Many of the walkers formed fundraising teams to raise additional dollars for The Arc. Peer-to-peer fundraising solicited donations from family and friends and generated over $28,000 to the grand total raised.
“Our family had such a wonderful day at this year’s Bubble Walk! This was the third year that we have attended, and both of our boys look forward to it every year. As they have gotten older, they’ve really enjoyed all the fun activities-the games, face painting, the animals, the police car and fire truck, and of course, the bubbles!
“We cannot say enough good things about the Arc of Chester County. Our son, Mason, started receiving therapy through early intervention when he was one. He is now six and finishing up his second year in The Arc’s Preschool and will be graduating in August.
“The Arc teachers, support staff, and all of the therapists have been exceptional. It is because of them, and their support, that Mason has grown and thrived and is now prepared to start Kindergarten in the Fall. We are so grateful for The Arc,” shared parent, team leader, and event volunteer, Lindsay Skinner.
The Arc provides a lifetime continuum of services in Chester County and the surrounding area to 3,000+ individuals and families a year.
The Arc of Chester County’s programs and services include Advocacy, Children’s Early Learning, Family Support Services, Comprehensive Employment and Agency with Choice.
