Diehard Sports Fan from Fairless Hills to Sideline His Pastime for Newlywed Bliss
Brian Brown of Fairless Hills, a diehard sports fan, is planning to sideline his devotion to Philadelphia sports teams while he enjoys his wedding and honeymoon. Dave Uram wrote abut the local fan for KYW Newsradio.
“I kinda made a promise to my fiancé from April 28 to May 7, only time I will have my phone is to take pictures,” said Brown. “I made a promise. It’s gonna be tough. I love my Philly sports, yes. They’re a close second. But my fiancé comes first.”
To understand how great his love for his future wife Debbie Morgan is, it is important to understand his love and level of commitment to all the teams in the city, from professional to collegiate.
He is an encyclopedia of knowledge about the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers.
“I can honestly say I remember all four teams winning their championships,” he said.
He also remembers the smaller things, like when Mike Schmidt hit one out against Nolan Ryan at a game between Phillies and Astros in 1982.
He also always defends Philadelphia fans against well-known stereotypes.
“We’re not nuts,” said Brown. “We’re passionate.”
