Many people in the workplace have dealt with “imposter syndrome”, a term used when someone feels like they’re a ‘fraud’ or they don’t have the abilities to do their job. There are different types of imposter syndrome and a myriad of causes. Here are surefire ways to deal with imposter syndrome, according to Forbes.

Acknowledge Your Feelings

The first step to overcoming your insecurities is to acknowledge that you’re feeling this way. Realize that you are not alone, and according to Forbes, 82 percent of people have experienced some form of imposter syndrome.

Find a Therapist

Nothing is more important than taking care of your mental health. Compassion focused therapy is a practice used to develop a sense of self-worth and overcome your own internal criticisms.

Talk It Out

Your colleagues and friends could be feeling the same way and going through their own struggles with imposter syndrome. Confiding in people you care about validating your shared struggles can help smooth out your insecurities.

Reframe Your Thoughts

Sometimes your thoughts just need to be adjusted so you can be int the right mindset. Instead of focusing on the negative, think about how you can find a solution to a challenge you are facing.
