The Blue Bell Trolley; this one's name is Pearl.

The Blue Bell Trolley, a new ride-service company, will navigate area roads for fall 2023, according to a Ryan Genova story in the Glenside Local.

Company owner Alexa Manzo, from Ambler, describes her service as a “charming suburban mode of transportation.”

Manzo was inspired by the trolley hired for her own wedding.

She felt that a cheery transport service for a broader range of uses would find a lucrative market.

The Blue Bell Trolley will indeed whisk brides, grooms, participants, and guests, to their nuptials. But it is also intended to be hired to ferry attendees to/from proms, corporate outings, athletic events, birthdays, mitzvahs, and anniversaries across Montgomery, Bucks, and Delaware counties.

“They’re photogenic, old-school trolleys,” Manzo described. “We named the white trolley ‘Pearl’ and the green trolley ‘Frank.’ It gives them some fun character.

“It’s something you don’t see every day in the suburbs. To think of a trolley rolling down the main streets of Ambler is a cool thing.”

Full details on the Blue Bell Trolley, including how to book a ride, is at the Glenside Local.

Trolleys as an engaging mode of transportation got a big boost from this 1944 MGM musical Meet Me in St. Louis and a signature song from Judy Garland.
