Sarah Trabattoni and Steven Tilsner, who met as Saint Joseph’s University students in 2014, were inspired by their travels when crafting a Parisian-inspired wedding in Old City. Taylor Carson profiled the SJU couple in Philadelphia Magazine.

Trabattoni and Tilsner became an official couple in 2018. The following year, they visited Paris and the South of France. The trip had them in awe of their surroundings and of each other.

“It was where we first confided in one another that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together,” said Trabattoni.

The pair wed in April 2022 in a ceremony that brought a Gallic aesthetic to Philadelphia.

“Everything I chose for the wedding design was rooted in a Parisian flair,” said the bride. For example, her custom gown was made by Filipino-French designer Monique Lhuillier, whose artwork also graced the invitations.

The couple tied the knot at Saint Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church (also known as “Olde St. Augustine’s) before heading to the reception.

The Francophiles’ influence continued there. But one geographic concession was made: The meal’s blessing came from Trabattoni’s 90-year-old grandmother — an immigrant from Italy.
