One Montco community rose to a national list of best places to live for 2022–2023.

Money magazine’s list of 50 Best Places to Live in 2022–2023 includes only one Pennsylvania locale. And it’s not perhaps what most people might expect. New Hope? Nope. Swarthmore? Swing-and-a-miss. Berwyn? Balderdash!

The publication’s editors based their evaluation on “…the things that matter most to people”:

  • Economic opportunities
  • Quality of life
  • Diversity
  • Where the best futures lie

Using those standards, Abington Township is the area’s solo primo community. It made the list at the No. 24 position.

Money cited it for being a “…first-ring suburb that provides affordable housing, a highly regarded school system, and easy access to culture and entertainment.”

The Montgomery County community fared better than some fairly attractive and noted destinations, including San Jose (No. 25), Denver (No. 28), and even Kaneohe, Hawaii (No. 38).

It was one of only four geographies in the Mid-Atlantic States. The other three are in neighboring New Jersey: Jersey City (No. 10), Fort Lee (No. 14), and Morristown (No. 30).

Of all the Best Places to Live for 2022–2023, Atlanta was recognized as No. 1.

The entire list of idyllic addresses can be explored at Money.

_____

Abington Township faced stiff competition from Kaneohe (detailed in this video), Hawaii, but still topped it for desirability.
