In the age of inflation and a looming recession, making extra cash can be a lifesaver. However, with 9-5 jobs and double shifts, not everyone has time for a second job. But there are plenty of side hustles that only take a few hours a week, perfect for someone with a demanding job. Here are some side hustles that don’t take up too much time, according to the website GoBankingRates.com

Furniture Flipping

Do you have muscles and a truck? Sharetown is a logistics company that partners with furniture brands for returns. All you have to do is pick up the item, clean it and resell it. Flippers can make hundreds of dollars per item.

Freelance Writing

Many writers create their own blogs and make money off ad revenue. If you have a large social media following for your writing, Substack and Patreon are paid subscription platforms for fans to read your content. You can also offer writing services via Fiverr.

Pet Sitting

Want to spend time with furry friends? Pet sitting can offer hundreds of dollars. Care.com, Wag, Rover, Fetch! and even Facebook groups of trusted community members can connect you to precious pets.

Transcription Services

This gig can be done in the comfort of your own home, and doesn’t require manual labor. Software like Zubtitle can be used to provide content creators with much-needed transcriptions or captions. You can make $25 to $50 an hour. TranscribeMe!, HappyScribe, or FlexJobs for freelancing services are all platforms to offer your fast-typing skills.
