While millennials and Gen Z are known for the gig economy, there are ample opportunities for people over the age of 50. Here are six side hustles for people to pursue in that age range, according to GoBankingRates.com.

Craft Seller

The pay for this side gig varies based on what you make, and how much you sell it for. But it allows your personal hobbies and passions, perhaps sewing, knitting, or baking to make you some extra cash. Etsy is a great website to sign up for and list your items.

Travel Agent

Average pay for a travel agent is around $18.61 an hour. Group trips are more popular than individual booking, due to the availability of platforms online that allow individuals to do it on their own.

Party Planner

Thumbtack estimates that party planners can make $50 to $150 an hour. From weddings to baby showers, to quinceaneras and bar mitzvahs, having a planner eases the stress of an event that is supposed to be fun for the entire family.

Music Teacher

If you have musical expertise, you can make over $28 an hour for private or group lessons. Teachers are responsible for planning their own lessons and giving feedback.

Bounce House Rentals

This lucrative side gig is popular at events with lots of kids! While bounce houses can cost over $1,000, it’s a lucrative investment to rent out at parties for up to $250.

Translator

Polyglots can earn almost $20 to share their skills. You can translate an array of media including books and audio/visual content.
