After working together on several residential projects, Paige West, curator of a large private contemporary art collection started by her father, SEI founder Alfred West, and interior designer Ghislaine Viñas made their first foray into commercial hospitality with Andra Hem, a Swedish-style cocktail bar in Philadelphia, writes Abid Haque for The New York Times.

Located on an unassuming corner of Rittenhouse Square, the space features bold colors and bright patterns. West chose the art exhibited on the walls, and there are a mix of hanging pieces and murals painted by local artists and friends.

The menu continues the Scandinavian theme and offers dishes such as Swedish meatballs and beet-pickled herring. Lambhattan and Nothing Beets a Dala Horse are among many interesting drinks to choose from.

Upstairs is a set of guesthouses where everything is sourced from Sweden.
