Sale of Eagles Super Bowl Gear in Montco Replays Phillies World Series Fever — But Even Crazier

The last days of Jan. 2023 recall a parallel timeframe in Oct. 2022, especially for sports-gear retailers like Rally House in North Wales. Dan Sokil covered the commercial déjà vu for The Reporter Online.

Sale of World Series red-and-white for the Philadelphia Phillies then is now sale of Super Bowl midnight-green-and-white for the Philadelphia Eagles.

“It was pretty crazy,” said Rally House manager Ryan O’Neill, describing Sun. night store traffic. “We sold out in probably an hour.”

Clothing is just the tip of the fans’ iceberg; fans are also snapping up banners, décor, and just about anything bearing a sharp-beaked, sleek-feathered avian profile.

According to O’Neill, the Kelce v. Kelce factor adds yet more juice to a battle not really in need of more electricity.

“People are excited to see the match-up with Andy Reid — and the Kelce brothers, too. We usually have the [Jason] Kelce jerseys up, but they’re probably one of our best sellers,” O’Neill said.

Despite steady activity to maintain stock at Rally House (or any other local sports-merch retailer), it’s an uphill climb.

“I’m sure we’ll sell out of most if not everything” if the Eagles win one more game, O’Neill said.

And then?

“We’ll see how the Sixers do,” he said.

More on the local sale of Eagles gear at Rally House is at The Reporter Online.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is a better athlete than he is a singer, but regardless, his rendition of “Fly Eagles Fly” will be a 2022 season highlight for a long time.
