Electric vehicles are on the rise in Montgomery County. According to PennDOT, the amount of EV’s registered in the county jumped from 1,140 to 3,186 between 2018 and 2022. Currently, there are 31,000 registered vehicles throughout Pennsylvania, writes Joe Zlomeck for The Sanatoga Post.

President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure law has awarded Pennsylvania $25.4 million for investment in clean transportation. It’s the first installment of $171.5 million total that the state will use to build out its EV network.

This includes more charging stations throughout the state. There are currently 12 reported EV charging stations in the Pottstown area and 60 near Royersford, writes Zlomeck.

The State EV Mobility Plan is working to install at least 5,000 new charging ports at 2,000 locations across Pennsylvania over the next five years.
