After undertaking extensive renovations, the current owners of the former Ardmore home of Eleuthera Bradford du Pont, the chemical fortune heiress, have listed the property for $2.95 million, writes Lisa Dukart for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

This splendid residence that has often been the site of lavish parties, orchestra concerts, and balls was built in 1907.

Perfectly situated at 300 Glenn Road, the 5,963-square-foot home known as Crestlea is within walking distance of downtown Ardmore.

While performing the renovations, the current owners ensured to give the stone colonial that was the former home of DuPont— chemical heiress a modern interior while at the same time preserving its historic roots.

“Every detail was considered,” said Sarah West, a broker with Compass who has the listing. “They had so much respect for the history of the home and they really wanted to do this in a way that respected and honored the era of the home and the history that it has.”

The five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom home includes an updated kitchen, new mudroom with radiant floor heat, and a second-floor main suite with a luxury bathroom that now also boasts a walk-in closet.

The third floor features an enhanced recreation space with a gas fireplace.
